Your Pre-Installation Checklist

Steps to ensure a smooth install

  • For new construction projects, please ensure your yard is at final grade before installation. All topsoil should be placed and leveled, ready for sod or seed. For existing landscapes (retrofits), any necessary grading or elevation changes should be completed prior to our arrival.

  • Please identify the location of all existing sprinkler heads before installation. We recommend marking sprinkler heads the evening before your scheduled install so we can properly design the layout of your new curbing or borders without covering or damaging them. For new landscapes, it is best to have the funny pipe already installed to the desired sprinkler head locations, with approximately 6 inches extending above ground level. This will provide enough length to properly install the sprinkler heads after the border installation is complete. Any drip lines for flower beds should also be installed prior to the curbing or border installation.

  • For existing landscapes (retrofits), we recommend mowing your lawn 1–3 days prior to your scheduled installation date. Please avoid mowing for at least one week after your curbing has been installed. In addition, do not use a weed eater directly against the new curbing for a minimum of two weeks following installation.

  • For new construction landscapes, sod delivery should be scheduled no earlier than the day after your curbing or border installation. However, we recommend waiting at least 3 days after your scheduled curbing installation date before having sod delivered.

  • Please remove all pet waste from your yard the evening before or the morning of your installation. Our crew members will be working on their hands and knees while shaping and finishing the curbing, and your cooperation is greatly appreciated in helping maintain a clean work area. Thank you!

  • Please do not water your lawn the night before or the morning of your scheduled installation.

  • Clear access to the work area is required. If installation will take place in the backyard, we will need access through at least a standard-sized gate.
